Bama looks to leave Columbia unbeaten
Oct 8th
Hitting the third of three tough games in a row, the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide head into Columbia, South Carolina this Saturday to face SEC foe South Carolina and head coach Steve Spurrier.
The 19th ranked Gamecocks will no doubt serve as another stiff test for an Alabama squad that survived Arkansas (24-20) and rolled past Florida (31-6).
“All my life somebody has been looking for an easier way to do everything, but to do this, there is no easy way to do it,” Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban told Rolltide.com after Wednesday’s practice. “It takes a lot of hard work, it’s very challenging and everybody has to challenge themselves to be their best to be able to do it. They’ve got a very good team, it will be a very difficult place for us play and it will take a lot of poise on our part to be able to compete the way we need to compete every play in the game to do the things we need to do to have success.”
South Carolina (3-1) enters the game fresh-off a bye week following a 35-27 loss at Auburn on Sept. 25. In that loss, the Gamecocks allowed 334 rushing yards to the Tigers, something they will have to fix on Saturday when they meet the likes of 2009 Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and sophomore sensation Trent Richardson.

Picks – Week 6, 2010
Oct 8th
Minnesota (1-4) at Wisconsin (4-1)
Line: Wisconsin by 22.
Saturday, 12:00 ET
This line is way too high. In the past three weeks, Minnesota has played close games with USC and Northwestern. Wisconsin is coming off a loss and won’t be as sharp.
Prediction: Wisconsin 24, Minnesota 20
Minnesota +22 (3 Units)
Illinois (2-2) at Penn State (3-2)
Line: Penn State by 7.5.
Saturday, 12:00 ET
I’ve bet against Penn State a couple of times this year. Not this Saturday. Illinois is complete garbage, but managed to catch Ohio State in a down week. Their tight contest with the Buckeyes, as well as Penn State’s loss to Iowa has deflated this line. I’ll like the value we’re getting with the Nittany Lions.
Prediction: Penn State 31, Illinois 13
Penn State -7.5 (4 Units)
Arizona State (2-3) at Washington (2-2)
Line: Washington by 2.5.
Saturday, 10:00 ET
Washington beat USC. Too bad USC isn’t very good. In the wake of their victory, the Huskies have been a bit overrated by the betting public. I’m taking the better team getting points here.
Prediction: Arizona State 34, Washington 24
Arizona State +2.5 (2 Units)
